Psychology: 15 Styles of Distorted Thinking

When would you say we are most prone to distorted thinking? When we are emotional (and do not think logically), when we do not give enough time to think about a question (so we do not consider other options), or when we lack knowledge or intellect to solve problems? Or are some people just more prone to distorted styles of thinking than others because of genetic predispositions?
What factors do you think contributes to distorted thinking?
